• A unique device identifier (UUID) generated when you first use the App

2. How We Use Your Information

2.1 Voice Transcription and Summarization

When you use our transcription and summarization features, your audio recordings and text content are sent to our servers and processed using Groq's AI services to:

• Convert your voice recordings to text
• Generate summaries and organized notes from your content

Important: This processing occurs only when you explicitly use these features. Your audio and text are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers.

2.2 Device Identification

Your device identifier is used to:

• Associate your subscription status with your device
• Authenticate your access to premium features

2.3 Subscription Management

We process subscription information to:

• Verify your subscription status with Apple's App Store
• Provide access to premium features
• Handle subscription renewals, cancellations, and refunds

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local-First Architecture

Your notes are stored locally on your device. We do not sync your notes to the cloud or maintain remote backups of your content. This means:

• Your notes remain on your device
• Only you have access to your complete notes
• If you delete the App or lose your device, your notes are not recoverable from our servers

3.2 What We Store on Our Servers

Our backend servers store only:

• Your device identifier
• Your subscription status and expiration date
• Device registration timestamp

We do NOT store:

• Your voice recordings
• Your transcribed text
• Your notes or note content
• Images attached to your notes

3.3 Security Measures

• Device identifiers are stored securely using iOS Keychain
• Subscription verification uses Apple's cryptographic signature verification
• Data transmitted to our servers uses encrypted connections

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Groq AI Services

We use Groq's AI services for:

• Speech-to-text transcription (Whisper Large v3 Turbo)
• Text summarization and note organization

When you use transcription or summarization features:

• Your audio files or text content are sent to Groq's servers
• Processing is performed in real-time

• Your notes are stored locally on your device and are under your control
• You can delete any note at any time within the App
• You can delete all App data by uninstalling the App

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings in the App Store.

6.3 Device Permissions

You can control the App's access to:

• Microphone: Required for voice recording
• Camera: Optional, for attaching photos to notes
• Photo Library: Optional, for attaching existing photos to notes

You can modify these permissions in your device's Settings app at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

SonicNote is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

8. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of information to countries that may have different data protection rules than your country.

9. Data Retention

• Device identifier: Retained as long as you have an active subscription or until you request deletion
• Subscription information: Retained for subscription management and to comply with legal obligations
• Notes and recordings: Stored locally on your device only; we do not retain copies
